Chart of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, 219 years after death

The Astrodatabank-chart of Mozart is a B-rated chart. The source of the hour of birth is a biography quoating his father's letter. This chart has Uranus on the Descendant. In the movie Amadeus you can see how Uranus on the descendant, opposition Northern Node sometimes gave the impression that Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was shocking, ‘an idiot’ or just ‘hyper’, different than the rest...That seems to be in line with Uranus. But he was also special, different than the rest of us, extremely talented. What makes his chart so special? What in his chart tells us about his early death? The answer is, that it is not just one thing, it is a combination of impressive indications. I listed 12 of them. For those interested, continue for the chart drawing, the talent in the chart and see how the progressions and transits mirrored his life.

Special person, special chart...And what is it that makes the chart of Mozart that special?

1. Venus is calling!
Venus is not making aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees. That makes the planet of style, beauty and talents a prominent planet in this chart. Venus is one of the components to create artistic skills. The other one is Neptune...

2. Mercury-Neptune with MC
Neptune is sextile Midheaven
Mercury is trine Midheaven
Mercury rules the Midheaven and is opposition Neptune. This again illustrates art related to the career. Together they symbolize artistic communications.

3. Venus AND Uranus important...
Music often is related to Venus-Uranus for sense of rhythm. The chart of Mozart has it: Venus is 'calling'(see 1.) and Uranus is angular (on a prominent spot on the Descendant).

4. Moon-Venus
The Moon is quintile Venus. The quintile is a creative aspect. Moon-Venus combinations symbolize sense of art. Moon quintile Venus shows a creative sense of art and beauty.

5. Venus is quatronovile Neptune, for rejoycing artistic talents.
6. Sun/Moon related to Venus
I almost forgot to mention that Venus is in Aquarius and related to the midpoint Sun/Moon: he was in heart and soul a talented person!

7. Saturn rules the 5th house of (pro-)creativity. Mozart was creative and procreative. He had a lot of children and unfortunately some of them died young.

So far for the artistic pattern. But there is more...

8. Lots of combinations for successes
The amount of midpoint and aspect combinations for success is amazing! I counted 18, and that is a lot and that is why he is still a success today.

9.The Ascendant in the 13th degree of Virgo is a degree of harmony and serenity.

10. The background...
Moon is exactly conjunct Pluto in the 4th house and quintile Venus, sextile Jupiter. This is not only a combination for success (Moon, Jupiter, Pluto and Venus, Jupiter,Pluto) but also gives us information about his early years. He had to go on tour with his father at age 8 years old! Today we should call this exploitation. Another thing is that his environment and education (Moon) was important as a background. His father was a composer, too.

Notice that only those born around the hour hat Mozart was born have such a combination and in those days, few people were born at the same hour. But what does it mean? You could read the pattern like this: enormous (Pluto) progression (Jupiter) with an artistic (Venus) ingenuity (Moon), an great potential of sense of art as a background (the 4th house).

11. Unlimited ideas...
Sun and Mercury are in opposition with Neptune. Besides unlimited fantasy this combination also creates delusions like the ones he had in his last years. Though this overload of ideas made him very productive (also notice that Mars is square Aries Point for production), it certainly may have made him vulnerable, too.

12. Almost forgot...Neptune sextile Midheaven, completing the pattern of artistic talent made by Moon, Venus, Neptune, their signs and Midheaven. See Art&Astrology for more examples.
What makes this chart so special is the unique mixture of great talent, genes, education and a busy life full of chances with the tragedy of every days life on the background.

The B-rated Astrodatabank Chart

Mozart was successful, but he had problems with money due to the high standard of living. Also he suffered from the death of four (!) of his six children between 1783 and 1789.  Saturn joins Sun and Mercury in the fifth house of (pro-)creation. At the time of the death of his little son, transit Pluto was in aspect with the 5th house Sun and Mercury. When his little daughter died in 1789 progressed Moon squared Pluto and transit Saturn was on the Moon.

His lifestyle shows by Jupiter in the second house. It was abundant. He even had a horse (Jupiter symbolises horses and …horsepower: probably he would have bought an expansive car in modern life). His ailing wife is symbolised by Venus in the sixth house.

On the day he died (5th of December 1791) Mars (ancient ruler 8th house) was square the important conjunction of Moon and Pluto in the 4th house. Transit Sun squared Uranus on the descendant. The solar return chart for that year is speaking for itself. There are many clues and that seems logical when such a young man dies. In 1791 he had Sun on the descendant, conjunct Uranus and was overstrained. You see how the most important planets and the Moon were aspected on the last day of his life.

The chart of Mozart (above) has many indications to discover. Wikipedia has his biography. You have the chart to test and find out more…
